YOUR SIGNIFICANCE AND PROMINENCE IS TIED TO YOUR ORIGINALITY

Nine years ago I asked my mentor and also my vicar (senior pastor), "sir what should I do to become like you? I really admire God's grace on your life,  your way of life and the wisdom with which you respond to issues " He looked at me for a while  and then he said  "Get your Bible, go to psalms 40:7" I did as he told me and then I saw this scripture, I think for first time, it goes this way " "Then said I, Lo I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me" He then said "Learn everything good you can learn from me but make sure live according to the volume written of you, that is where your significance lies" I think those words dissolved and became an integral part of my red blood cells.

In my days in the higher Institution I noticed  few things that were quit popular among students but it does not work for me .
Students goes for night classes,  I never tried that for once I prefer reading in my closet. Students normally go to library to read,  each time I enter to read, after 10 minutes I will doze off.  This is because I find it extremely difficult to study in a sitting position.  I can lie down for 8hrs without any disturbance from sleep while studying.  So I decided to borrow books from library instead of deceiving myself inside there.
Most times students use only past questions to study. Personally  I try getting set before looking at the past questions. Does it mean that the popular practices does not work, off course no but it didn't work for me.  If I had forced myself to those practices, may be my results would have been something else on the negative.  Did I graduate with good grades?  Yes off course ( though in this side of life,  your grades does not matter,  but get good grades first)
We have a serious prevalent issue of people trying to graft themselves into another person's destiny,  people dumping who they are and who God created them to be and are being some one else.  It is a slight on God's personality and a question on His infinite wisdom to try being like another person, you are actually telling God you don't like who He created you to be.

According psalms 40:7 there is a volume written of everyone and our coming to earth is to manifest this written volume.  Let's take a look a these few things below.
* No matter how exact you are in being like another person,  you are just number two,  or number three or even  the 1000th person.
* It can be very frustrating trying to be like someone else,  this is because the person you are trying to came into this world with the grace to be who he/she is,  meanwhile you came with the grace to be who you are.
* Your Significance Is Not In Your Similarity To Another But In Your Point Of Difference From Another.  Uncommon men are common men who discovered their uncommon gifting.
* Quiting is easy when you are trying to be someone else.

Now let's get something clear, there is a place for admiration of great things and learning from others but trying to be like others when it comes to destiny is absolutely wrong.

Elisha served Elijah and when it's time to ask for favour I thought he should have asked to be like Elijah. He asked for double of Elijah. He has seen in the loins of destiny that he has capacity to host double of Elijah's spirit and anointing. If he was myopic He would have maintained status quo.  Brother who told you that the best you can be is like that person ? Do you even know who you are? you are a walking, breathing and living system as you are. I repeat you are a system.  Only your originality and difference will bring out the system in you.  Why belittle your God by trying to like someone else? Do you know that your little difference may be your announcement?
A time when sword, spear,  bows and arrows were conventional weapons of war, our father David came to fight with slings and stones.  It looks stupid but that singlar act of being himself was the genesis of his greatness. Hear me honourable readers,  your difference may project foolishness at the instance but if you have a strong persuasion from the Holy Spirit don't shift grounds. You are on your path to greatness, significance and prominence.  See you at the top!
